(no subject)

hi! i'm new. while i don't do it very often, one of my favorite things to take pictures of is urban decay.

last saturday i went to treasure island and took tons of pictures. there are so many cool decrepit buildings and stuff out there... i love it! and you just can't beat the view.

all pictures are (c) 2004 me, heather lynch.

for those who don't know the san francisco bay area, treasure island is a man-made island off of yerba buena island (a natural island). yerba buena island is in the middle of the san francisco bay, and the bay bridge crosses over it, so it's easy to get to. treasure island used to be a naval base but it was decommissioned in 1997. people still live there but for the most part it's kind of empty and desolate, with a bunch of worn-down and boarded up buildings. it makes for cool pictures.

later that day i brought a friend back and took some pictures of him in the landscape. while i'm at it, i may as well share those as well.
