Joy Oil

Joy Oil Co. built this service station in Toronto in the 1930s. It was part of a city-wide chain and now is the only one left and a designated building. Presently sawn in half, the station awaits soil remediation and then will be included in an affordable housing deal. For a gas station it was quite fanciful, charming. I hope they do justice by it. Even in this condition (and in two pieces) Joy here compares well to the look-alike designs of today's gas stations.
