This is all that remains of a military station built in downtown Akron in 1883. It sits in an (nearly) impossible to reach corner of Glendale Cemetery. Glendale is a Civil War era grounds that is home to many of the founding fathers (and mothers) of the Akron and Summit County area. This tower and the Glendale Cemetery are in a paricularly "decayed" area of the city. You may note that the entire structure is locked and boarded and the roof is falling apart. There are no plans to renovate or repair this structure.
