Some of you expressed interest in seeing more photos of the abandoned building I artfully gained access to on Ellis Island. Well, I got inside again two days ago and took some more shots. I only had 20 minutes, so I didnt get alot. It was a sunny day.
I found out some of the history of this building. It was an infirmary during the time immigrants were being processed on the island. The main big room was lined with cots where the sick were laid up. After Ellis Island stopped taking immigrants in the 40's, it was used as a military hospital for injured soldiers from WWII ( Read more...Collapse )
