On the verge of death...

I noticed a few days ago that a backhoe had been moved into the yard at one of the many abandoned houses in our neighborhood, so I finally decided to get over there to photograph it before it was gone.






A few weeks ago the fence had disappeared, but the gate was left behind. To the right, you can just barely see the rooftops of two other abandoned houses. I assume they too will be torn down.



Last fall the windows and doors on the lower floor were boarded up, but it didn't help much, as the actual door behind the plywood was left vulnerable. I am not courageous enough to attempt to venture inside.
